a teacher's summer.

Before the school year ended, I was so so ready for a break! I felt like I was crawling to the finish line. Now that I'm far into the summer, I'm not even crawling. I'm doing a lot of this (see above photo). I have a few photos of Ellie that embody what my summer has become:

If you notice the planner in the back, this shows my desire to plan out my day of nothing to do. I usually end up taking a little nap to get the energy to watch the Bachelorette.

This is what I look like if I've had a full day of teacher trainings and Parker comes home and wonders what's for dinner. Or if I've had a full day of teacher training and Parker says or does anything. At all. I kind of turn into an animal. Plus, teacher trainings are so boring.

Spending quality time with my husband.

Taking road trips.

Getting out of my comfort zone.

Pursuing my hobbies.

Catching up on a few good books.

This summer should continue to be very restful. Mind you, not all teachers spend their summers this way. Many of them travel, arrange their classroom library, entertain their children, run teacher trainings, do community service, or save the world. I don't have much time for any of those things. Obviously.
